Engage & Grow 2025 Expo, powered by the Bridgeport Regional Business Council (BRBC) is poised to be the premier expo in the region. Manresa Island Park Hosts First Community Engagement Session

Manresa Island Corp. invites the community to its first engagement session on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Brien McMahon High School, Norwalk. Attendees can share ideas and feedback to help shape the park’s master plan.

 

The event features remarks from Austin and Allison McChord, an introduction from Executive Director Jessica Vonashek, and a presentation by Gena Wirth of SCAPE on the site’s history, current status, and future vision. Interactive stations will explore key aspects of the project, with opportunities for community input. A children’s activity table and a digital story booth will also be available.

Connecticut Housing Partners Secures $79,000 for Energy Efficiency in Affordable Housing

CHP, one of the state’s largest nonprofit affordable housing developers, has raised $79,000 through the Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) to support critical energy efficiency upgrades in affordable housing communities across Southern CT. This initiative allows businesses to purchase tax credits in exchange for donations that fund sustainability projects, helping to reduce energy costs and improve living conditions for residents.

 

The funds will benefit several CHP properties, including Wilton Commons in Wilton, Huntington Place in Trumbull, Merton House in Bridgeport, and Trinity Park in Stamford, all of which provide affordable housing for seniors, families, and individuals in need. Leading contributions include $30,000 from M&T Bank for Merton House, $30,000 from Spectrum for Huntington Place, and additional donations from United Illuminating, Eversource, and Santa Energy.

 

CHP extends its sincere gratitude to all participating businesses for their support in creating energy-efficient, affordable housing.
