Please share this post with as many people as you can, this survey will become a baseline for every country taking part.
The 2024 Attitudes Towards Dementia global survey gives you the opportunity to join thousands of others and help us build the world’s largest international survey on prevailing attitudes and stigma towards dementia.
Last time 70,000 people joined globally and amongst many important things we found out that 62% of healthcare professionals globally did not believe dementia was a disease but part of ageing. This astonishing and important fact shaped the way we engaged with governments all over the world on primary healthcare policy. There were many more precious pieces of information like this. The analysis of the data you provide will be carried out, as in 2019, by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
A survey of this scale helps us gain a truly global perspective on attitudes to dementia. What may seem evident to you may not be someone else’s belief about dementia. That is why it is essential that we gather as many voices as possible, ideally from outside our community.
The survey is open to everyone, so please share it with your friends, family, colleagues, communities, and networks, and don’t forget to take part yourself!
The survey is currently available in English, Arabic, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish; with dozens of other languages on the way. To select your preferred language, click the arrow in the top right corner and select your language from the drop-down list.
Follow us to find out when new translations are out! There will be announcements very soon and I cannot thank enough the hundreds of volunteers that are working on the translations all over the globe. The survey will stay open until May to allow us to have as many voices as possible. Please help us!
