We went for dinner with friends but when we arrived we were surprised to find that it was carnaval night; which meant that after dinner the restaraunt turned into a dancing party event. It was a blast to experience. But first, the food was delicious. I've had Brazilian food before but this was really good. We ordered a bunch of different appetizers for the table instead of meals. This way we got to experience a little of everything. Only one of us ordered a whole meal which was the paella and according to him it was delicious and very savory and perfect meal size. We ordered a bunch of different drinks: caipirinha, passionfruit caipirinha, beers, and so on... the passionfruit caipirinha was amazing! My favorite was their picanha sliders and their pork belly. . The bork belly was so nice and crisp- perfection. Give it a try. The kitchen does close at a certain time and they do come around and advise ahead of time so you can place your last orders if you choose. Afterwards, they removed all of our tables and chairs, the music comes on and everyone just starts dancing. It was lovely to watch this culture love their culture the way they do. We had an amazing evening. Everyone speaks English perfectly. Everyone was super pleasant, our waiters/waitress were always around. We couldn't of asked for a better night. Thank you
(Thru also have GF, vegetarian options and some of their meals do include cheese but I altered my own meals to be DF)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Juan G.Miami, FL04Jan 21, 2024
I adore Brazilian food. I wanted to like this place, and it was initially promising. Great live performer this afternoon, and it's a cool space. But we got a curb your enthusiasm episode instead.
We ordered appetizers Pao de queijo and Coxinhas. The Coxinhas were solid (only the Coxinhas), and we were eager to try entrees. However, that is all we'd have the opportunity to order.
Seeing we had appetizers, a server returned and inexplicably took our menus. We sat for 30 minutes until someone asked us if we needed anything. Said person checked in on the server so we could order entrees. 15 minutes later, an annoyed server came to ask if we wanted anything else...
All I could do was smile and shrug it off. If you'd like someone to be annoyed at you for trying to order an entree, even if that's why someone might enter a restaurant. This is the place!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shanta S.Hartford, CT12158May 4, 2024
Our family came into Norwalk for the weekend and we have been craving a taste of home with some Brazilian food. Boteco Ipanema did not disappoint. Service from the moment we arrived to our departure was top notch. They even paid extra attention to our little one and created an impromptu birthday celebration for her with the live band and brought out a bolo with candle. Food was delicious. Nothing but good vibes. Thank you so much for being authentically yourselves. We will definitely be back!

Oh man this place has awesome food and vibe. I hapenn to stumble in here in January while waiting to meet friends for brunch. The place was packed and the samba was lit. Live music going on. Lots of laughter and dancing going on. Unfortunately that day without reservations we could not stay as there was literally not one seat available and no one was moving! This place left such an impression that we had to come back.
Fast forward 4months we made reservations for brunch and came back. Oh what a contrast! No live band. No crowd. No vibe. I thought it was an every Sunday vibe. Apparently is select times where they have samba parties. However, we did have fun.
We came for a celebratory birthday brunch and we had a blast. The staff were beyond attentive. Engaging and funny. I don't know maybe it was the fact that it was 4 beautiful girls. But I even made a joke about the parade of male staff that came to say hello and ask if we were ok. It was quite funny. We were treated to some complimentary Brazilian bobon candies(i took a few) our drinks were excellent. I had 2 brazilian old fashion and ordered the churrasco mixto and my friends had the piranha and steak encebollado. The sides were homemade pototatoes "chips" rice, black beans fried yuca, yuca flower and salsa. Everything was delicious. We even got a round of drinks for free(the waiter brought us a round and we had not asked for it so it was comp)
Overall we had NOT one complain. The food was great. The staff were above and beyond friendly and attentive and we definately have to come back for a samba party! Highly recommendHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Apr 17, 2023
We came here on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate our friend's birthday and although the vibes wasn't as lit as a previous Sunday it was still a good time.
Food was chef kiss delicious. I had a steak and onion (Bife encebolado) and my meat was cooked medium well like I asked. It came with yuca fritters and potatoes chips. My friends got the churrasco mixto and they both said it was delicious. My sister got the sirloin ( picanha)
It came sizzling hot and smelled amazing. It was cooked just like my sister asked which was medium well.
Our table had no complaints about the food as it was well seasoned and cooked to perfection.
The drinks were also pretty good. I had passion fruit caipirinha which had the perfect amount of sweetness and still tasting the rum. My friends had the Brazilian old fashioned and a coconut caipirinha.
The staff was super attentive checking on us frequently and interacting with us. This place was definitely worth the 95 south traffic jams.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Agnieszka B.Hartford, CT01Mar 14, 2024
I went twice. Once it was a date with my bf and second with my girlfriends. Both times the food was delicious and we had outstanding service We are all in love with grilled octopus and croquette. Desserts are great as well. We also had cocktail made by Carlo named "Caipirinha" and I will definitely try it again next time, it was so refreshing and indeed gave us a booze.
We also agreed that coffee was very good! This restaurant deserves a visit.

The food here is delicious. This restaurant introduced me to picanha sliders with pão de queijo as the bun. I'll be forever grateful for that. This place is lit on Friday's and Saturday's as they have a live music. The food and drinks were really impressive but their tables my guest and I were seated at were too tiny and awkwardly placed. The food we ordered barely fit on the table and we were forced to shuffle dishes around just to make space. I really wish they would find a solution for this. The manager, front of house, and the waiter were really friendly. It was nice of them to explain some of the dishes as we were unfamiliar with a few of them even as Brazilians ourselves. I totally recommend this place.
