Meet Riko Balakit, an NHRL builder and developer for Tender Claws, an LA-based art and games studio. At NHRL, Riko combines their professional work with their passion for robotics with their robot, 2FA. Riko used Unity to craft an intuitive, game-like control system for 2FA that's equipped with real-time telemetry updates so they can see important information such as battery life, mechanical stress, and navigation data throughout each match, just like how games display scores and player stats on screen. Riko hopes to use an AR or Extended Reality device like an Apple Vision Pro or Oculus Quest 3 to control a future iteration of the bot. Riko exemplifies how NHRL competitors are leveraging advanced engineering to revolutionize robotics. Keep an eye on them as they continue to innovate and redefine the dynamics of robot fighting. #NHRL #Robotics #Innovation #EngineeringExcellence #Unity #AR

Meet Jacob A Hoffmann, the creative force behind one of NHRL's most formidable fighting robots: Maximizer. Our builders' innovative designs and any opportunities they have to experiment and iterate - whether it's at a makerspace, or an NHRL tournament - are part of what bring our league to life. Fostering hands-on experimentation, innovation, and skill development is essential for tackling real-world engineering challenges. Huge thanks to University of Cincinnati for investing in, featuring and nurturing talent like Jacob's, and for being a trailblazer in shaping the future of engineering. #NHRL #Robotics #MakerspaceMagic #EngineeringExcellence
